January Solicitations

Taken from ComicsContinuum.com: DC Comics has announced an initiative for January where titles will focus on characters and spotlight logos for each.

"This January, we;re putting the focus squarely on the characters and iconic heroes of the DCU," said DCU Co-Publisher Dan DiDio. "Not only will we tell new stories some of the more-deserving with special one-shots, but we'll be giving every title in the line a unique treatment that puts the spotlight on the heroes and villains that populate the DC Universe."

DC also announced one-shot spotlights for characters in the DCU.

What will we see in January?

BATMAN BEYOND #1

Written by Adam Beechen, art by Ryan Benjamin and John Stanisci, cover by Dustin Nguyen.

Batman Beyond becomes an ongoing series! Terry McGinnis and Bruce Wayne are stronger than ever after the battle with "Hush" brought their alliance close to the breaking point. But now a super-powered criminal has gotten in way over his head -- and the whole Justice League has come to Neo-Gotham to hunt him down! To top it all off, the crook's taken hostagesÉ including Terry's mom! It's the start of a story that will change Terry's life -- and the Beyond universe -- forever.

32 pages, $2.99, in stores on Jan. 5.

This looks good! I'll think seriously before actually putting it on my pull-list, but I always enjoyed this version of Batman. It is coming out at a good time as the Batman: Beyond Complete Season is coming out in November!

BIRDS OF PREY #8

Written by Gail Simone, art by Ardian Syaf and Vicene Cifuentes, cover by Stanley "Artgerm" Lau.

The stunning "Death of Oracle" arc continues, with complications that will resonate through the DC Universe! And find out more about Mortis, the most twisted Birds of Prey villain ever, as she sets her sights on Hawk and Dove in this Batman Incorporated tie-in!

32 pages, $2.99, in stores on Jan. 12.

Oooh! Artgerm is doing covers for Birds of Prey?! How cool! Oh, no...a tie-in. Do I have to buy Batman, Inc. now?

BATGIRL #17

Written by Bryan Q. Miller, art by Pere Perez, cover by Dustin Nguyen.

Batgirl has been given her first sanctioned Batman Incorporated assignment solving a series of high-profile kidnappings, and she's thrilled! Well, she was until Damian Wayne decided to ride shotgun. Can the Dysfunctional Duo stop fighting long enough to save the children of Gotham City's elite?

32 pages, $2.99, in stores on Jan. 12.

I had just spoken to Bryan Q. Miller, recently, and he told me to be on the look out for this cover! What a triumphant moment for Steph! Having a great cover with her symbol behind her! Yay! *squee*

I hope you all are enjoying the start of Fall! I love the smell of Pumpkin Spice!

Fly on, Babs lovers!
